Hoe Bridge School is a co-educational prep school with some 500 pupils. The school prides itself on its strong core values which include high expectations of each pupil.
Hoe Bridge School was looking for a management information system to support these values and decided on SIMS. Initially, the school started using SIMS to move to electronic registration, then introduced SIMS to help with producing reports for parents as Head of IT, Suzanne Gilmour, explains: “We value the flexibility of SIMS for report writing – the information is already in the system so it’s easy for staff to complete, and we can tailor reports to look exactly how we’d like them to.”
Governor Susie Lacey values the analysis available in SIMS: “Governors need good oversight of how the school is performing and SIMS can provide an excellent top level report highlighting any particular trends. I like that SIMS offers multiple levels of information for different roles within the school – it helps teachers to focus on the individual pupil, the senior management team to look at overall group trends, and governors to identify trends developing across year groups or the school as a whole.”
Hoe Bridge School is also using SIMS Fees Billing and SMS Financial Management System for their accounts, as Headmaster Nick Arkell explains: “Because it’s education-centric, SIMS is working brilliantly for our finance department – we value using a system specifically designed for schools.”
Nick summarises the value of SIMS to the school: “Introducing SIMS has been a huge success - we now have an efficient and co-ordinated approach to administration throughout the school, with all areas of the school talking to each other. The excellent reputation of SIMS, the strength of the SIMS Independent community, and the impact we’re seeing already mean that I’m confident SIMS has the scope to deliver what we need as a school.”
